Usually if a battery is a few years old it’s probably time for replacement. You may also notice slow engine cranks when attempting to start the vehicle, or the cranking of the engine is sluggish and takes longer than normal to start. Our technicians have the most up to date electronic tester to check and see if your battery needs replacement or jumpstart.

The simple answer is yes. Ambient temperature has a significant impact on battery life and performance. Most car batteries use a liquid electrolyte solution to hold a charge, which is affected by hot or cold weather. While it takes extremely low temperatures to freeze a battery, cold reduces the solution’s ability to transfer full power (which is why it can be hard to start a car in winter). There’s a misconception that buying a battery with a higher CCA (cold cranking amp) rating will remedy this, but since vehicle computers regulate the amperage required for startup, it actually won’t make any difference.
Technology found in cars today can make a simple jumpstart an expensive one when not done correctly. When jump starting a vehicle incorrectly it could potentially cause computer malfunctions and failures to the point of costing you thousands in repairs. Your safety and others around you are put at risk if the battery explodes.
